Conservation is a Community Effort ❤️

On 25th June 2021, I organised another fundraiser event for The Friends of Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation and Awareness Centre in collaboration with The Bucket List Club. This fundraiser was essentially for the wildlife of the area so that they still have a place to go to when in need. Tenikwa plays a prominent role in Wildlife Rehabilitation in the Western Cape, and is one of the few in the world that admits both marine and terrestrial species, reflecting the biodiversity of The Garden Route. The wildlife hospital admits approximately 300 – 400 animals per year!
The evening included a wonderful and informative talk & slideshow presentation by travel expert @IanThompson on the Great Serengeti Wildebeest Migration, as well as an introductory talk on Tenikwa’s Rehabilitation work by co-founder @MandyFreeman. With event numbers restricted to 50 pax indoors, I think we did well to raise R4310 towards keeping Tenikwa’s animal hospital operational during challenging times!

A huge THANKS to all our sponsors including Sky Villa Boutique Hotel, @Plett Winelands (Kay and Monty, Packwood, That Wine, D’Villo, Bitou, Lodestone) & SoulShine Festival #Plett

Congratulations to all the fabulous prize winners!
Prizes included:- A 2-night stay for 2 at either Sky Villa, Bungalow or Spanish Farm Guest Lodge bed and breakfast and a bottle of wine valued at approximately R10 000. – A full-day pass to the next SoulShineWellness, Music & Lifestyle Retreat valued at R1497.- A 2-hour guided forest walk and picnic with a tour of Tenikwa, for 2 people value R1500.
